Product Review: Magnesium G by AzureWell

The good news is I am 22 weeks pregnant and so excited to meet our baby girl in the spring. The bad news is that means I get to experience the many symptoms that come with pregnancy. While this has thankfully been a very easy and smooth pregnancy so far, I have had a few struggles lately, which many women who have been pregnant can relate to.

First of all, the insomnia is killer! Just today I received a text from a friend who is finishing up her first trimester of pregnancy, asking me if I have been sleeping as poorly as she has. Apparently insomnia during pregnancy is common – about 1 in 4 pregnant women experience insomnia during the first trimester, and by the end around 80% of pregnant women are dealing with it. Changing hormones, such as increased estrogen and progesterone can cause insomnia early on, while a growing baby, joint and body pain, and frequent urination may be the trigger near the end. It’s no fun dealing with sleep deprivation and growing a baby at the same time.

Another struggle I’ve been having is constipation. As one who is very intentional about my diet, I very rarely experience constipation. Yet, it’s been a real struggle for me during both my pregnancies now. Approximately 16-39% of pregnant women will experience constipation at some point and there are a couple reasons for this. First of all, the increase in progesterone production can relax the bowels, making it more difficult to pass stool. As the baby grows, it can put pressure on the bowels, yet again making a bowel movement more difficult. Other things that may contribute to pregnancy constipation are dehydration, the iron in the prenatal vitamin, and insufficient exercise.

As you can imagine, I was getting pretty miserable not sleeping and not pooping. I’ve come up with a little treatment plan for myself and first on the list was adding a magnesium supplement. This brings us to the topic of the day…

Magnesium G by AzureWell

Several months ago I wrote a post about the many amazing things magnesium does for our bodies, and mentioned that AzureWell has a great one. This pregnancy has been the perfect time to pull this one off the shelf and add it to my daily routine.

If it’s not obvious by my introduction, magnesium is great for helping with sleep and with regulating bowel movements! Since those are both my issues, adding magnesium was a no-brainer.

But it does so much more than that! Magnesium is involved in over 600 enzymatic reactions throughout the body. AzureWell’s Magnesium G is an easily absorbable version of magnesium that may help with any of the following:

  • Regulating energy metabolism
  • Improving sleep and promoting relaxation
  • Strengthening bones
  • Supporting healthy blood pressure
  • Supporting an already normal blood sugar level
  • Respiratory tract health
  • Regularity and digestion
  • Hormone and menstrual cycle health
  • Support the use of calcium in joints, muscles, and arteries
  • Muscle cramps and fatigue
  • Healthy heart rhythm

If you’re looking for support in any of these areas, maybe AzureWell’s Magnesium G is for you!

My experience taking it

I added 2-3 Magnesium G capsules per day and within just a day or two I honestly did notice I was having better bowel movements and better sleep. Pretty simple and straightforward and that’s the way we like it.
